Given Logitech’s recent statement that they would no longer be producing new remotes, I feel confident in recommending this Inteset remote as a viable Harmony replacement.
First and foremost, it is cost-effective. Second, it works as expected: you will need to input remote codes, but once you do, it is very simple to use. Third, it includes all of the functionality you’d expect from a multi-device remote, including illuminated buttons for use in low-light situations. You may use this remote control to operate your DVD players, Blu-ray players, sound systems, and other televisions from major manufacturers, including Samsung TVs, in addition to Philips TVs.
The sole disadvantage of this remote is that it can only handle four devices. It does, however, hold its own against more expensive remotes like the Harmony Companion.
