Converting my home into a smart home is one of the best things I’ve ever done. It is not only cool, but also very practical and useful. One of the most affordable ways to create a smart home is to purchase a wireless outlet. I’ve had a mini Gosund Wifi plug in my hands for a few weeks now, and it’s great!

If you think a smart home is for lazy people, you clearly haven’t tried it yet. The goal is not to lie down and never get up, but to be comfortable and efficient. I’ll share how I used these outlets later in this article and how a smart home can change your life.

I used the Sonoff smart switch because of its very reasonable price and compact design. The downside is that you have to split the wires and destroy the original design of the device you are connecting it to. In addition, you must repeat the procedure after replacing the unit.

After installing the application, simply plug in the Gosund mini Wifi connection and connect to the internet. Press and hold the power button on the side of the unit until it flashes.

Then open the application and click on Add Device. The application searches for a Wi-Fi connection and connects to your Wi-Fi. Once installation is complete, the radio-controlled socket is fully operational.

Air conditioning

The idea of a smart home only came to me because of air conditioning. I love the idea that I can control the air conditioning even when I’m not home. For example: I’m at a dinner party with my wife and I’ll be home late. I’d rather go home to a cool room than a hot one.

I use Alexa at home. Screaming at Alexa to turn on the air conditioner is fun, but it doesn’t stop there. I can watch every time the babysitter opens the air conditioner for my baby. I can also disable them if I feel they are useless and overused.

The timer function is great too. You can set a schedule for the air conditioner to turn on and off. Like me, I turn the air conditioner on at 10pm every day and off at 6am. Whatever you do in the meantime, the settings of the existing program remain unchanged.

Television

Connecting your TV to a smart outlet can be very convenient and useful. I have a Chromecast connected to the TV, so I can control just about anything that happens on the TV without having to touch a remote (which often gets lost).

But what really helps me is the timer function of the Gosund Mini Wifi Outlet. Have you ever watched a series from Netflix and couldn’t stop? Then you realize it’s one o’clock in the morning and you’re up early. By putting a timer on your TV, you can stop watching TV at a certain time and lead a healthier lifestyle.

If you’re in control, you can also just yell at Alexa or Google to turn the TV off and never get up.

Lamps

If you can control a lamp remotely, that’s great. If you wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and need good lighting, you can tell Alexa or Google without blindly searching for a light switch.

Often the lights are not off either. When you leave the house, you often forget whether you turned off the lamp. Connecting to a smart outlet solves this problem, as you can see if the device has been left on and you can turn it off remotely.

Gosund’s mini wifi plug works very well during my tests. It has the stable communication that is essential for smart plugs. The response time is good and the work gets done when you use the phone for verification.

But when it comes to the home of Google and Alexa, they may not be able to navigate this way. I don’t know if it’s Google’s or Alexa’s fault, or the plug itself. But sometimes it takes two tries before the socket responds and an assistant can access it.

The application is very easy to use. I had no problems with it, even as a beginner. I highly recommend this product, especially for its price. Check the power supply to the unit. Is Gosund a good brand?

A good Gosund is affordable and works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The downside is that you have no control over power output, shutdown modes, or compatibility with Apple HomeKit. The Mini Smart Plug from Gosund is an affordable way to automate turning devices on and off, but don’t expect much more from this simple plug.
